After almost two millions hits, 88 candidates, five seasons of The Donald and one of Martha, a little business and a lot of drama, Toronto business woman Alexa Clark (aka "Lex") is leaving the boardroom.
On June 15th at 9pm PDT, Clark is selling her highly successful fan site TheApprenticeBlog.com on eBay. With only 44 hours remaining in the auction, the highest bid is $ 575.
With the tag line "Everyone's an armchair MBA with TheApprenticeBlog", TheApprenticeBlog.com focuses on the business lessons and candidate performance on NBC's hit show The Apprentice. Over the last five season the site has developed a solid and very active readership-base which includes some past Apprentice candidates.
With the new season starting ~fresh~ on the west coast this might the perfect opportunity for Mark Burnett to revive The Apprentice, like he has done repeatedly with Survivor.
"Or at least I hope someone will think so because I'm trying to sell this blog." says Clark.
Along with the domain name http://www.TheApprenticeBlog.com and all the links, affiliations and traffic channels she has built for this domain, Clark is selling :
the domain - TheApprenticeBlog.com
approx. 1,950,000 page views in total over the 6 seasons
average approx. 5000 pages views per day
daily page views of the current season's blog during the finales have reached over 100,000.
(these counts include page views for all 6 blogs)
Typepad.com hosting until Jan 1, 2007
6 seasons of TheApprenticeBlog.com content for TheApprenticeBlog.com
Each season (5 of Donald's Apprentice, and one of Martha's) has its own stand alone blog under TheApprenticeBlog.com and they all are still getting plenty of hits from searches and reairings.
Clark, also the editor/publisher of the best-selling restaurant guides CheapEats Toronto and CheapEats Ottawa, says "For the most part my decision to sell out is about personal satisfaction. When I started this blog I was really excited about the show, the technology and the learning I was getting from both." Clark adds "but it's time time for me to move my focus onto my other projects, schemes and business ventures. While I hope that whomever takes over will keep things flowing smoothly for the existing community here, it can't be me doing it."
